How to call your Member of Congress
Following the advice from the Indivisible Guide, one of the best ways to make your voice heard is to call the local office of your Member of Congress (MoC). Staffers log every call every day, and they take notes on what issues are being raised, and/or whether the caller supports or opposes a bill that is up for consideration.
When calling, be polite and concise, especially when high call volume is expected. The more calls logged the better. If you don’t feel up to speaking with someone, you can leave a message after hours or on the weekend.
Give the staffer answering the phone your name and zip code. Tell them what issue you are calling about and how you feel about the issue.
When you agree with their stand on an issue or piece of legislation, be sure to call to register your thanks and support. They almost certainly will be receiving calls from the other side.
Visit our Members of Congress page and our State and Local page to find their numbers, or use an app like 5Calls.
